Africa's largest mobile telecoms network

What does it take to be the largest network in Africa? I guess it takes MTN.
MTN has spread across many countries in Africa and after Nigeria lately has been recorded as the largest mobile telecoms network in Africa. How did they achieve this feat, well i guess it takes marekting research and application, the right brand and network. The growth of the telecom industry has been higher n developing countries across the world, Africa particularly which Nigeria leading. These were services which have always been needed but were not available due to unfavourable factors and laws but has become favourable with the growth of democracy and privatisation.

Is is mtn or Zain. There is also Vodacom but maybe that is only located in South Africa
