Paypal in Nigeria

Why does Paypal not allow Nigerians to own accounts? It would have been one of the most popular means of online payments in Nigeria if it was allowed and what most people then do is to have a contact in the US or other accepted african country to run things for them there. Imagine a coutnry like Niger having access to a paypal account while Nigeria is excluded. I guess one has to then have an account in the us or a us address to verify your registration so as to use it

You don't really need a paypal account to make good deals or purchases from Nigerian when we have mastercard. Paypal is not as big as mastercard or Yahoo and so they are only trying to minimize their risks. You can still shop with Yahoo or Amazon with your Nigerian credit card
