I read this article on the guardian today and i seem to support the US blacklisting of Nigeria as a religiously intolerant country.
"Nigeria's blacklisting on the grounds of religious freedom, is indicated in the current annual report of the CIFR published this month. The commission asserted in the report that "the tolerance by Nigeria's federal, state and local governments of systematic, ongoing and egregious violations of religious freedom has created a climate of impunity, resulting in thousands of deaths"

I support the US Commission on this because these organized acts of violence, right from the planning, invitation of mercenaries from countries like Nigeria and the mass onslaught against Christians in the North particularly, there is no how the governor of the state will not know. Christians are being killed regularly in the North because of their faith, God bless their souls, yet in this country we call ourselves Nigerians, but it is a fellow Nigerian that will kill the other. If you count the number of Christians that have been killed in such religious crises since after the Biafra war, you will see that it could be in hundreds of millions. We need to change in Nigeria. Christians easily accept to live with their Muslim brothers everywhere, but the North is most violent. It is unheard of in the South that Christians launched an unprovoked attack on Muslims, but in the north, the story always begins there. Maybe it is all part of what is causing under-development in the north. I don't think some northern governors even want their citizens to be educated and grow out of poverty, they are afraid of losing control. There is really no religious freedom in Nigeria, perhaps more education would help us get there.
